About Me

Morro Bay, California – October 2008

Nathaniel Emerson Heigert

Born in 1985, I began drawing at the age of four and I haven't stopped since. I grew up in the Chicago suburb of Mundelein, where my artistry blossomed (all over my homework and notebooks, aggravating my teachers). I attended college at Washington University in St. Louis, where I studied illustration and graphic design at the Sam Fox College of Art. I also pursued film as a minor and am a huge film lover.

In the spring of 2005, I studied fine art abroad in Florence, Italy.

During my senior year in October 2008, my friend Shlomo Goltz and I became national finalists in the Chevy Super Bowl College Ad Challenge that gave students from five different schools the chance to have their idea turned into an ad for Chevy at Super Bowl XLI. As a joint runner up, the competition gave us both considerate exposure and attention, and my interest in advertising grew.

I released my graphic novel Shade: Part One for free to read online at this website in May 2007. Part Two will be uploaded as it progresses.

In October of 2008, I relocated to San Francisco to pursue my creative endeavors.
